Painted Turtle

Established in 2025

Hopes to be an accessible, art-based experience for those …

  • Looking to explore ceramics, but not ready for an expensive, multi-week class.

  • Wishing they had a creative outlet during Syracuse’s long winters.

  • Spending too much time on their phone, and who want a screen-free outlet.

FAQs

  • To get started, submit a form on the website, or email, owner@painted-turtle.com. Let us know what bisque piece(s) you are interested, what glazes you’d want, and when you’d like to pick up you kit.

Glaze at your own pace and contact us again when you are ready to return your kit and piece. One week later your ceramic piece will be fired and ready to pick up.

If you are facilitating for a group, the process is similar except Painted Turtle handles the deliveries and drop offs with the group’s coordinator.

  • Painted Turtle uses an Evenheat 1813 High Fire Ceramic Kiln. Lovingly named Bridget, Celtic Goddess of Fire and Healing, she easily reaches cone 10.
